A subdomain is a web address, which is under a main, or a root domain. One example is something.domain.com, in which domain.com is the main domain name, while "something" is the subdomain below it. Every single subdomain can have its own site and records i.e. aside from using the domain name as a part of the whole web address, a subdomain can be fully independent and also hosted by a separate company. Using a subdomain can be very practical if you wish to have different web sites that are connected in some way. For instance, you may have an online store under the main domain as well as a forum under a subdomain so as to offer means for your clients to ask questions and / or share views regarding your products. The main advantage of using a subdomain instead of a subfolder is that the sites will be separated, so you can update one of them or perform maintenance not affecting the other.

Subdomains in Cloud Hosting

Our cloud hosting plans will permit you to set up numerous subdomains for every domain address hosted in your account without any difficulty. Assuming that the main domain address is added, it will take two mouse clicks to set up a subdomain and choose what folder it'll open (if different from the default one), set custom error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions, set a shared IP address or a dedicated one, and a lot more. All subdomains will be conveniently listed in alphabetical order under their main domain for easy access and administration. By right-clicking on any of them and by using quick access buttons you can view the error logs, visitor statistics or website files for that specific subdomain. We have not set a restriction for the total amount of subdomains that you can create with any of our plans, so you can have as many as you need.

Subdomains in Semi-dedicated Hosting

Using our semi-dedicated server plans, you're going to be able to create an unrestricted number of subdomains for any of the domains that you add as hosted in the account. It takes a few mouse clicks to create a new subdomain and in the process you're going to be able to to add custom-made error pages for it, select if it will use a shared or a dedicated IP address, change the default folder that it will access or activate FrontPage Extensions. All subdomains which you have within the account are going to be arranged under their root domain from a to z and you're going to be able to see and manage all of them with ease. By using instant access buttons and right-click menus you will also be able to jump to the website files within the File Manager area or see logs, visitor statistics and other information about any one of your subdomains.
